Don't have an opinion yet because the first 2 I ordered got broken during shipment, and the tertiary got sent dorsum due to poor QC. I ordered the vii'6" 2 piece and the blanks don't fit together. At that place'southward a 3/4" gap between the blanks when I put the ii together. Is it supposed to be that way?

I tin't seem to say enough nearly this rod. I have the half-dozen'2 sl and it is a dream to fish with. i dearest the hidden handle which allows me to fish with consummate comfort. I have caught numerous rainbows and browns up to 22" with this rod. The backbone is crawly and the sensitivity is across whatsoever rod in this price range. I own the a One thousand.Loomis Trout & Panfish GLX that cost two hundred dollars more than and don't even like it as much equally this elite tech river runner. Way to go Fenwick. I am truly a fan now and will be a long time client to come.

As for the Aristocracy Tech River Runner, it's a very prissy stick. My only beefiness is it's a 2 piece, but in all honesty I have not had a single misalignment or separation issue with mine in the two seasons I've fished it. Very well fabricated, the activity is spot on and overall is a joy to fish with.

This is a remarkable rod, I saw 1 existence used at the river and asked the person using it what it was...Fenwick? I thought they made wing rods? I got domicile, searched for it online, read reviews, saw what it was fabricated of and was merely amazed. Lifetime warranty, SiC inserts, unique handle design, and a great option of lengths. I mainly fish for coldwater species, such every bit Trout and Salmon, then this rod is but perfect. It puts my 2011 Compre to shame. SiC inserts are awesome, just as good equally Titanium but a fraction of the price. This rod has everything y'all could e'er want in a freshwater and fifty-fifty waltwater rod.

six'' 8" UL River Runner

Just took delivery of my 5th Fenwick rod, I accept ane fly rod & three other spinning rods. My 1968 5'half-dozen" FF55 spinning rod is also an UL, merely rated at i-four lb exam line. 1 other reviewer states his half-dozen'8" is a true UL with a backbone. I agree with the backbone, simply would say this rod leans some to the low-cal category as is my 6'half-dozen" Fenwick Hawkeye GT rating.
I have not fished with this rod yet. But existence a retired packaging engineer, I wrote Fenwick the day the rod arrived. I complained that the two plastic nix ties securing the rod to i of the 3 panels of the triangular shipping carton could mayhap impairment the rod if an impact happened to this panel. I did find 2 problems that I explained to Fenwick.
I was the line guide at the stop of the 'female' spigot rod cease was bent, information technology was not perpendicular to the rod by about 3/16". The other was the 3rd guide from the tip was bent too, it's angle to the rod was dif than the other guides, and afterward closer examination, had little epoxy contrary the windings.
I fixed both issues myself past some gentle bending & a reinforcement of epoxy in several locations. I inspected the entire rod using an inspection 5X ability eye piece. Dispite these ii issues, this IS a quality rod! The metalflake colors are a sight to see under 5X. The manufactory epoxy on the windings are smooth and authentic. And then I even so gave the rod a five, information technology deserves it. And information technology volition fish as good as my other iv rods have!

Easily down one of my FAVORITE fishing rods

For trout fishing bated from using a fly rod, this is THE Best in my stance compared to any spinning tackle on the market place. I own two versions of this rod and can't put information technology downwardly during fishing season. I ain the 7'2 L and 6'2 SL and sore lip trout and every other fish in between every time out. The sensitivity on this rod is exceptional but still has enough forcefulness to handle bass. I've used both from bream to trout to bass and they agree up great. The hidden handle is extremely comfortable and gives you a full grip compared to other rods that leaves you with a gap where the reel seat is located. The guides are super slick and smooth and let for swell release of line for greater casting distances. I tin can cast a trout magnet up to if not over 20 yards with these rods compared to my other light tackle spin rods. The tac on the rods is a major plus when your easily become wet, it provides even meliorate grip so you wont lose your rod. I highly recommend this rod if you are serious about using lite tackle on large fish. Yous will not be disappointed.

This rod paired with a Stradic CI4 thou is the best trout outfit i take used.
I have also caught bass on this upwards to 6 lbs. and many crappie.
This gear is a little pricey but well worth it.

I am a big fan of Shimano and 98% of my gear is made of Shimano high end reels and rods. But I needed a longer lite power 2pcs rod that Shimano doesn't comport to fill in the gap. It never crossed my mind before to get with Fenwick and it took me awhile to convince myself and later reading numerous review about this River Runner. I finally ordered the seven'6" Light ii pcs online and tried information technology in the side by side weekend throwing light jigs and spoons. The rod surely can cast, the tip is sensitive, not whippy, the grip is excellent, the hidden seat is something new to me but it is a good stuff. Like other reviewers have written, this rod tin handle not only trout only bigger fish. I had a small12" trout hitting my spoon and it felt like a freight train hit it. You volition know for certain when you have a strike. Note: Brand sure you lot set the claw hard because of the light parabolic action of this rod. I call back this would exist a not bad rod for driblet shot as well.
Great rod for 1/two the price of Shimano Cumara Spinning. But Shimano is yet my primary line up and this Fenwick is a underground weapon for when things need to become finesse and calorie-free. The Fenwick River Runner is no Shimano Cumara, merely you tin can count on it and buy it with confidence. I surely going to go a 2nd i.

Bully Trout Rod

I used this rod for the first time on the White River, AR for trout. What a nifty rod for the price. I bought the vii'ii light action rod. Its a great two slice pattern that wont come autonomously when your fishing. It cast and counterbalanced well with one/four oz lures up to ii/5 oz lures. It had a neat activeness that fought xiv inch trout well in fast current and light line.
I volition purchase a couple more for sure!

I love this rod! I accept the vi'eight" light model and used it for the first fourth dimension recently to throw some low-cal Rapalas and spinners for trout. I'g glad I went with the lite and not the ultralight because that extra backbone is overnice for the bronzebacks! The water I fish for trout likewise has a ton of smallmouth that can get pretty large. Using 4 lb. line, I hooked a 15" smallie with a big fat abdomen on her with my 3rd cast. The rod performed uncommonly well as I took my time landing her. Very comfortable in my hand and the sensitivity you typically only find in rods costing twice as much! I volition definitely purchase another of these rods!

PROS: Super lightweight rod, beautiful blueprint, moderate price.
CONS:Hand grip is to short and not comfortable, Remainder is off. Trust me i tried this pole with a 5.9 oz reel and one time you put your hands on the rod,the weight of rod is transfer toward the tip . It makes jigging for trout hard considering you are constantly belongings the weight of the tip upwardly. That kills all the sensitivity of the pole. Although this pole is good for spinners.
Considering of the weight balance i couldn't give this rod a v out of five, but would i ever buy another i? NOPE, heading in dissimilar management.

These rods which I now have 2 to are becoming my favorite to bring angling. I own the six ft 8 in ultra light and the vii ft vi in light action. Casting is effortless and the grip is very comfortable. I have landed an viii lb dark-brown trout, and lakers, smallies, and perch. The rods fish like i piece tho they are two piece. A homerun series for sure!
